Market Direction: BULLISH alert issued 02/20/2014
Volatility has been the name of the game over the past couple of weeks. Although the vast majority of stocks were affected across all classes in this most recent pullback, small caps and biotech led the decline. While pullbacks can provide an opportunity to acquire quality stocks at a discount, it may be best in this instance to allow this pullback to play itself out before stepping in to snap up securities. The market has been on an incredible incline over the past five years. It is highly possible this most recent pullback may be the catalyst for further declines in the near term.
Economic Calendar: Retail sales (4/14), CPI (4/15), and Housing starts and building permits (4/16).
Some of the major earnings announcements on deck: KO, JNJ, INFY, YHOO, ABT, BAC, GOOG, DD, GS, CMG, UNH, PEP
